The family of actor Lance Reddick is taking issue with a coroner’s conclusion on his cause of death. Earlier reports linked Reddick’s death to heart disease. But an attorney representing the family is saying that cause of death was not proved by an autopsy and is inconsistent with Reddick’s habits and fitness.
Attorney James Hornstein claimed Reddick was “the most physically fit person I’ve ever known.” He said the actor worked out daily at his home gym, doing extensive cardio and maintaining a strict diet. He said Reddick required “the availability of gym facilities” as a “contractual requirement” when working away from home.

Actor Lance Reddick, best known for playing police lieutenant Cedric Daniels on “The Wire,” succumbed to the No. 1 killer of adults in the United States: heart disease. Reddick, a Baltimore native, was found dead at his home in Studio City, California on March 17.
Though the 60-year-old was initially thought to have died from natural causes, his recently released death certificate lists ischemic heart disease and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease as causes of death.

On Instagram, Stephanie Reddick mourned the loss of her husband, “taken from us far too soon.” She posted a series of photos of Lance Reddick, who died Friday morning at his home in Los Angeles. He was 60.
“Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day,” Stephanie Reddick wrote in a message shared on her late husband’s Instagram page.
“I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them.”

According to Forbes, “Destiny” players have been holding virtual vigils and memorials for Reddick this weekend within the world of the game.
