A Ghanian man has abandoned his wife at the hospital upon hearing that she has given birth to quadruplets.
The man identified as George Ackah has attracted a lot of attention on the internet and has raised enigmas as to why he would run off when he heard that he and his wife are now parents to four babies at once.
According to reports, the man who is said to be a cleaner with a private firm outside his community, Sefwi Adukrom, has not returned since his 27-year old spouse gave birth at the Bibiani Hospital on Sunday, July 19.
According to Graphic Online, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Kwesi Adu-Gyamfi, stated that the woman was referred from a private hospital due to her severe state.
“I must say that from the time of admission to the time of delivery, the husband who she said is a cleaner in a private firm, did not pass by the hospital nor answer his calls,” he said. The unemployed wife, who lives with Ackah in Sefwi Adukrom, a farming community, already has two children with the man before the arrival of the quadruplets”, the doctor confirmed.
“After receiving her, I assigned a medical officer to her permanently, we followed her until the 31-weeks where we admitted her and then to 36-weeks when she delivered.” The doctor stated.
Dr. Adu-Gyamfi also added that the mother of the four babies initially requested for antenatal at a private facility, where an initial scan showed triplets.
“After we performed thorough assessment with further scans we realized they were quadruplets,” he said.
However, the husband, Mr. Ackah hasn’t showed up at the hospital and has left the wife in shame and confusion.
