Donald Glover has teamed up with adidas Originals for a new sneaker collection and now he drops an ad called Donald Glover Presents: adidas Originals.
The talented artist runs to Mo’Nique’s house only to find himself locked out. He eventually gets in and takes care of chores including chopping wood, beekeeping, and serving a fancy dinner. Donald then starts painting while Mo’Nique teases him. The entire time he drops and spills various items on his adidas shoes.
The collaboration with adidas Originals involves different takes on the preexisting models Nizza, Continental 80, and Lacombe.
Glover says this about the partnership:
“Rich is a concept. With this project, I wanted to encourage people to think about how their stories can be told on their feet. Value isn’t quantified by what you wear, rather the experiences from them. And you make the decision on what works for you, you live through your own lens. The partnership for me is about being able to exemplify what doing your own thing truly looks and feels like.”
Donald is fresh off his new film Guava Island co-starring Rihanna, which he premiered at Coachella 2019 last weekend. Childish Gambino also used the festival to AirDrop attendees a photo of his new sneakers. Those who accepted received a pair of the unreleased footwear.
