I wasnt expecting the overwhelming streaming during the Black Love Concert says Sarkodie

Sarkodie, in a phone in conversation with Andy Dosty on the Daybreak Hitz show explained how the streaming platform for his Black Love Virtual Concert crushed.

The concert which featured stellar perfromances from stars like Shatta Wale, Efya Nokturnal, Kidi and King Promise came off on August 16, 2020.

However, the streaming platform- CEEK, which was supposed to allow fans access to the show online by a pay per view suddenly crashed over excessive traffic.

CEEK recorded over 1.5 million streams in a moment and was shut down denying the many anticipating fans access to the show.

Meanwhile, Sarkodie in his interview mentioned that the news brought him mixed feelings.

According to him, his team did not anticipate that many people streaming the virtual concert in a moment and was convinced that his loyal fanstook his craft and his artistry serious.

He was grateful for the support of his fanbase and all who logged on. On the other hand, he admitted that it was a lesson to him and every other top notch artiste to provide for such excesses while organising virtual concerts in the future.

The rapper touted, The Highest, added that he decided to collaborate with CEEK because it is owned by a Ghanaian and they have successfully streamed virtual concert by some very established artistes.

He claimed that part of the problem came from late registration as 1000s of people flooded the system causing it to shutdown.

”I think again there is some education we need to give our people too. I started promoting this show from way back so i think if people wanted to register they should have done that long ago. So, at least we know the numbers that is on there. And whta happened yesterday was, getting to the show now 1000s of people are trying to log on. The system recognised it as a threat- as someone trying to hack hence the shutdown”, he said.
