Idris Elba shares update on coronavirus symptoms after testing positive

Idris Elba has shared an update on his symptoms after testing positive for coronavirus.

The actor discovered he had the virus earlier this month, telling fans he did not have symptoms but had decided to get tested after being exposed to someone who had it..

Elba wrote on Twitter: “Hoping everyone is coping with this $@@!! Currently still quarantine…

“[Elba’s Wife] Sab and I still feel ok so far with no changes. Dr told us that after quarantine we will be immune for a certain time since our antibodies fought this.

“At some point we’d like to go home to London. Bsafe.”

In a comment below the post, he added: “I really didn’t have poorly days… I had a headache and body aches on the day I tested but that’s been it.”

Elba recently condemned a conspiracy theory that celebrities are being paid to say they have coronavirus.

“This idea that someone like myself is gonna be paid to say I’ve got coronavirus? That’s absolute bulls***,” Elba said. “Such stupidness. People wanna spread that as if it’s news. That’s stupid.

“It’s the quickest way to get people sick because there’s no benefit to me and [Elba’s wife] Sabrina sitting here saying we’ve got it if we ain’t got it. I don’t even understand the logic of that.”

Elba is one of many stars, including Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Olga Kurylenko, who have tested positive for coronavirus.

He suggested, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, that the pandemic is Earth’s response to being “damaged”.
