Logo Benz: Olamide justifies money rituals, says, ‘Don’t box musicians’

Musician Olamide has justified the lyrics of his latest collabo song with Lil Kesh, titled Logo Benz.

In the song, the two artistes threaten to do money rituals if Jesus and Allah hesitate to make them rich. They sing: “I dey pray to Jesu, ‘K’owo wo le o! If money no enter, I go do blood money o!’ I dey pray to Allah, ‘K’owo wo le o! If money no enter, I go do blood money o!’”

Listeners have since criticised the lyrics, saying it encourages money rituals.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle, @olamide_YBNL on Friday, Olamide says the song reflects the desperation to make money at all costs, rather than justifying the same.

He had tweeted:

Logo Benz is for the 3rd party to have a glimpse into the current state of youths in our society. (Runs girls x runs boys) “ I’m not sure if there’s anything like 2 much awareness, but pardon me if there is. It’s all over the news, it’s always been in movies, don’t box musicians.

There's bound to be misinterpretation of the lyrics the way yahoo boys and their cohorts misinterpreted 'wetin we gain'…. I think if you're fighting against a certain trend using music as your weapon, your lyrics should not be misleading. Good morning!
