The 38-year-old managed to get back to his feet after receiving from the punch, but Referee Dan Miragliotta decided to end the bout in the fourth minute and 56th second of the fifth round. Overeem was 4-0 up on the scorecards before the incident ended his night.
The defeat ended a two-fight winning run for Overeem, who now has a record of 45 wins and 18 defeats in his mixed martial arts caree
