Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has said he will not be coming to Johannesburg this weekend.
Basketmouth, one of Nigeria’s most successful comedian was billed to perform at the Comics Choice Awards which will hold at the Gold Reef City, Johannesburg South, South Africa. Following the attacks on foreigners at the CBD district, Basketmouth has pulled out from the event.
He posted on his Instagram page, “I am not sure how and when we got here.
I won’t be attending the comics choice awards this weekend in S.A as scheduled. It might sound like a whisper but together our voices and the right actions will hopefully make a true difference. And real change can begin. “
Basketmouth joins other Nigerians such as Burna Boy, Ycee and Tiwa Savage who have taken drastic moves against Xenophobia.
