American philanthropist Vanessa Bryant is best known as the late NBA player Kobe Bryant’s widow. Vanessa Bryant has a $600 million nett worth. The pair established their own foundation in 2007 to offer college scholarships to underrepresented groups of students worldwide. Bryant is the president and CEO of Granity Studios in addition to being the head of the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
While Vanessa was serving as a background dancer for a music video, they got to know one another. At the time, she was 17 years old. Kobe, who was 21 at the time, was in the recording studio working on his first album of music. Within six months of that initial meeting, they became engaged. Vanessa filed for divorce in December 2011 alleging irreconcilable differences. Kobe had a $200 million nett worth at the time she filed. They lacked a pre-nuptial agreement. Strangely, Vanessa didn’t file for divorce until just a few months after their tenth wedding anniversary (though this didn’t ultimately matter because they didn’t). In California, spousal support is granted to the recipient of a marriage that lasts more than ten years indefinitely rather than for a fixed period of time determined by the length of the marriage. Just a few months after Kobe agreed to a $84 million contract extension, she also made the decision to file. They announced their reconciliation and cancellation of the divorce two years later.
