Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday, killed three policemen attached to the Ogba Zoo and Nature Park in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
The gunmen abducted Dr. Andy Ehanire, the chief executive executive officer of the leisure park and a brother of the Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire and Mrs Daisy Danjuma.
The three policemen were reportedly killed at about 6pm and disarmed by the attackers. The attack caused panic attacks the zoo with fun seekers, who had come to enjoy their Sunday evening, scampered for safety.
Spokesman of the Edo Police Command, Moses Nkombe, who confirmed the killings and abduction, said the attackers would soon be brought to book as security had been beefed up in the area. He assured members of the public that the park is safe for fun seekers.
The remains of the police officers had since been deposited at the Benin Central Hospital morgue.
