The influential politician and elder statesman has been rarely seen in public lately due to
his ill health which is mainly attributed to his age.
Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari, Turakin Sakkwato served as the first and only President of Nigeria’s Second Republic, after
the handover of power by General Olusegun Obasanjo’s military government.
