An auto mechanic identified as Saturday Akhidelo has been confirmed dead after allegedly being beaten to coma by some security operatives allegedly hired by a driver who brought in a Hilux van for repairs.
The deceased who spoke to ITV before his death, disclosed that he didn’t know how he got to the hospital he was treated in. He also revealed that after regaining consciousness, he noticed that was passing out blood in his urine.
Commenting on the death of the Mr Akhidelo, the doctor who treated him said he was brought to the hospital with serious health challenges after being beaten by the security operatives. He also revealed that the deceased was discharged with a directive of carrying out a CT scan, but he died before that could be carried out.
It was further gathered that the driver who allegedly brought the security operatives to assault the auto mechanic, was arrested by the police in Rivers state where he fled to after the incident.
According to ITV, the spokesperson of Four Mechanized Brigade declined to comment on the incident but directed the victim to come forward with proof of being beaten by army officials.
