A 16-year-old Nigerian teenager, Idongesit Martins, has caused shockwaves on social media.
She expressed her desire to get married immediately after sitting for her West African Examination Council (WAEC).
She shared on Facebook her intention to get married, rather than further her education in the higher institution, saying a husband is better than a degree.
It is not clear if she is a ‘Marlian’, a term that is used to describe fans of Nigerian artiste, Naira Marley, who once said having big buttocks is better than a Masters degree.
She wrote: “I wish to get married immediately after my WAEC, a husband is better than a degree.”
