The president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo- Addo has announced that government has lifted the restrictions in the transport sector, and allow for full capacity in our domestic airplanes, taxis, trotros and buses.
His Excellency Akufo Addo made these statements during his 14th Nation address to Ghanaians on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic yesterday,26th July 2020.
The President in his address regarding the transport sector explained restrictions by the government on commercial vehicles are to return to taking the normal number of passengers in their vehicles.
In the President’s speech he said; “In consultation with the Ministries of Transport and Aviation and the leadership of transport operators, Government has taken the decision to lift the restrictions in the transport sector, and allow for full capacity in our domestic airplanes, taxis, trotros and buses. The wearing of masks in vehicles and aircrafts, and the maintenance of enhanced hygiene protocols, remain mandatory.
Again, Nana Addo during his address to update the public on measures taken by the government in the COVID-19 battle established the fact that the wearing of masks in vehicles and aircrafts, and the maintenance of enhanced hygiene protocols, remain mandatory.
Urging all to adhere to the safety enhanced hygiene protocols given by the health professionals to safeguard oneself from contracting the deadly novel Coronavirus.
In other related news, the President in yesterday’s address to the nation said that government has lifted the ban on all church activities and the number of congregants.
Adding that effective 1st August 2020 the restrictions on the number of congregants worshipping at a time in Church will be lifted, with the length of worship extended from one (1) to two (2) hours per service.
