Ghana was sent into a state of jubilation when the president declared that, water bills for the next 3 months will be free.
In the wake of the jubilation, the Ceo of Ghana water company; Dr. Clifford Braimah has explained that, all those with outstanding debts will not enjoy the free water unless they settle their debts first.
He added that, all the disconnected pipelines will not be connected.
He said this in an interview with Citi Fm.
“The people who are owing us, we expect that they pay before they get free water. Somebody said those of them who have been disconnected, we have to connect them so that they will benefit from the three months.
I said the President is not telling me to give free water to those who are not connected because the president is not paying for January or February. And so those owing will have to pay,”
