One woman has been declared dead after she was involved in a five- car accident.
Two others were also left with injuries in the same accident.
The tragic five- car accident happened on the N1 near Beyers Naude Drive in Weltevreden Park on Friday afternoon.
The paramedics arrived the scene after they were notified of the incident.
They found one of the vehicles in a ditch on the side of the road, while several other vehicles were found scattered across the highway.
It is understood that the deceased victim’s body was found several meters away from her car.
Paramedics treated the two patients on the scene.
It said that one of the victims was in a critical condition.
However, the two have been transported to hospital for further care.
