Being a virgin refers to a person who has not engaged in any sexual relationship with anyone.
So, one’s a person loses their virginity, it naturally means that they have had an intercourse with another person.
While losing one’s virginity may have several social and emotional consequences, it also leads to multiple bodily changes, especially in a female body.
1. Hormonal changes
Indulging in sex can cause your brain to release certain feel-good hormones called endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. These hormones are known to reduce stress in people, while contributing to happy feelings and emotions. Besides that, it also enhances one’s bond and feeling of trust with the person they just had sex with.
2. Breasts become firmer
As and when you’re sexually active, your breast may become firmer and tender. This is because sexual intercourse causes your breast tissues to swell up, while arousal can increase the flow of the blood to the breasts, making it more firm.
3. Increased sensitivity in the nipples
Sex can also increase the blood circulation around the breast and the areola, which can make your nipples more sensitive than before. The process known as vasocongestion, which is caused by increased vascular blood flow, sensitizes the nipples, also causing the labia and clitoris to enlarge.
4. Changes in the vagina
Loss of virginity may also trigger certain changes in the vaginal area. The elasticity of the vaginal walls expands greatly, becoming more flexible than before. Also, your clitoris is enlarged, which makes sure that the next sexual intercourse is less painful and more pleasurable.
5. Your clitoris and uterus know how to respond
Women, after losing virginity will also notice a change in the way their clitoris and uterus respond. Since the uterus and the clitoris become more used to the sex, they’ll adjust and will become more instinctive. They’ll contract and expand when the body is sexually excited and will return back to normal when you’re not aroused anymore.
6. Glowing skin
Having sex for the first time may have its own perks, especially when it comes to your skin. As we’ve already discussed, sex may lead to the release of happy hormones, which may help you relax and in turn improve your skin health. Apart from that, since blood circulation increases during sexual intercourse, it may have a glowing effect on your skin!
7. You may miss your periods
Losing your virginity is often followed by delayed periods, which may give young girls and women a false pregnancy alarm. But do not be concerned until you experience other signs of pregnancy. This happens because your body is under several hormonal changes, which triggers such delays.
