“Harmonize” Nominated For MTV Europe Music Awards Beats Diamond, Alikiba, And Sauti Sol

A few weeks after he decamped from the WCB label and got married to his long time girlfriend Sarah, bongo Flevva ssinger Harmonize’s star is shining even brighter.

Konde Boy’s busy year has been capped with a nomination for the best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards where he faces competition from South Africa’s Nasty C and Prince Kabyee, Toofan, and burna boy. “The East Africa Young king, #KondeBoy @harmonize_tz has been nominated for the Best African Act Category at the 2019 MTV EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS,” reads MTV Africa Twitter handle. The nomination makes Harmonize the only nominee from the East and Central Africa.

Should he go on to win now join his former WCB Boss Diamond Platnumz and Alikiba who has previously won the Award in two successive years. The winner of the African act goes on to compete for the International act which pits winners of the Asian edition against the African category. The event will be held on November 3 in Seville, Spain with voting in the category now open. Ariana Grande leads the nomination list with seven nods, ahead of Shawn mendes, billie Eilish and lil Nas X with six nomination each, lizzo and Taylor Swift both received four.

Diamond was the winner of the 2015 MTV EMA awards, Tiwa savage (2018), Davido (2017) AliKIba (2016) and Sauti Sol (2014). Other artistes who have been nominated before include; Jua Cali (2007) Big Pin (2007) Nameless (2006) Kleptomaniax (2005) Jose Chameleone (2007) Juma Nature (2006) Nyashinski (2017) Camp Mulla (2012).
