A Nigerian lady’s tweet applauding singer, Burna Boy’s mother for allowing him live his life irrespective of what society thinks, has sparked a debate online.
Alluding to the success BurnaBoy has recorded in recent times with his mum as his manager, @ebelee_ asked Nigerian parents to allow their children lead their lives irrespective of societal standards. She argued that Tattos, piercings and dread locks should be the least of concerns of parents.
Some Nigerians have however disagreed with her, arguing that the fact this pattern of parenting worked for BurnaBoy doesn’t mean it would work for other children. Read their exchange below
