Believe it or not your sleep position can say a lot about your personality. It’s not surprising when you think about the fact that the average human spends a third of their life sleeping.
While you might not be able to change your personality, what you can change is how you support your sleep position with the right pillow.
It is often said that if you want to peak into someone’s personality, you should watch them sleep. We all have a favourite sleeping position, but what we don’t know it can actually reveal a lot about our inner-self and even our health.
Here is what your sleeping position says about your personality:
1. The fetal position
Also known as the ‘curling up like a baby’ position, if you are someone who is seeking comfort and safety in your life, you may find yourself sleeping sideways, with your legs curled up like a baby. This position simply signifies the sleeper’s need to be guarded against the world and feel secure. If you are someone who sleeps in a fetal position, you may be a gullible person who is really sensitive but tries to portray a tougher exterior.
2. The stomach sleeper
If you sleep on your tummy, you may be a social butterfly and a very amicable person. However, you may come across a little brash at times. You do not like being criticized, as you are really insecure on the inside.
3. The log sleeper
If you lay on one side with your arms on the sides, you actually sleep like a log. If you recognise yourself in this sleeping position, you are someone who is really friendly and trust-worthy – you might just be the Queen Bee of your gang.
4. Just like a soldier
How do you imagine a soldier standing? Quite possibly, it is standing in attention with his/her arms to the sides. If you sleep like a soldier, you are probably a strict, reserved and meticulous person. This military stance sleep type also means that you take your life very seriously and demand a lot from yourself.
5. You hug a pillow
If you are someone who just cannot sleep without cuddling a pillow, you just might be a happy-go-lucky person, who tends to give a lot of importance to the relationships in his/her life. You are a really helpful person, who loves to go the extra mile for the people you love and care for.
6. The side-sleeper
If sleeping on either of your sides is your go-to comfy position, it means you are an easy-going person, who welcomes everyone with an open heart. Further, if your preferred sleeping side is left you may be more creative while those in favour of the right side are more likely to be alcoholic and smokers.
7. You sleep on your back
If you sleep on your back, you are more likely to wake up recharged and good-to-go for the day. Sleeping on your back may even signify that you have really unrealistic and high expectations from yourself as well as others.
