Shields decided it was time for college and enrolled at Princeton, where she fully engaged herself in college life save for the occasional appearance on a Bob Hope television special, made-for-TV movie, or other special event. She majored in French Literature while there and developed a passion for theatre, participating in two local performances of Love Letters to gain experience.Shields received honours at his Princeton graduation. Shields returned to acting full-time after graduating and starred in films that are best characterised as average.
