Wednesday was a special day for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo as he attached his name to Madeira International Airport.
Ronaldo’s face has now been place on the front of the building, while it’s far from the first time the superstar has been recognised in his home town.
Aside from having his own museum in the city, Ronaldo recently received a statute in Madeira.
Following the Madeira International Airport announcement, a new piece of artwork was presented to the world: a bronze bust of Cristiano’s head.
Cue the avalanche of jokes
It’s fair to say the new Ronaldo bust is awful.
It simply doesn’t bear any real resemblance to one of football’s greatest ever players.
Accordingly, when pictures of the Ronaldo bust spread on social media, people couldn’t resist making jokes about the artwork.
