According to a report, President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia sent soldiers to take over the electoral headquarters while president Muhammadu Buhari and other African Union delegates in the likes of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia, President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra-Leone -arrived the country to hold talks with him over smooth transition of power after loosing in the presidential elections.
