The Netherlands won many medals in swimming on the first day of the Olympics. Chantalle Zijderveld, 15, took bronze in the 100 meter Brea5tstroke in the SB9 class. And Marlou van der Kulk won silver in the 100 meter backstroke.
Among the men, 16-year-old Duncan van Haaren too bronze in the 100 meter. Michael Schoemaker won bronze in the 100 meter freestyle in the S4 class. And Marc Evers won silver in the 100 meter backstroke.
