GARETH BALE was left stunned after Real Madrid were not handed the La Liga trophy on Sunday.
Los Blancos beat Malaga 2-0 to pip Barcelona to the title on the final day of the Spanish season.
And the Welsh winger – who has been out injured for the last month – even got changed into his all-white Str!p for the celebrations on the final whistle.
But Bale, 27, was gobsmacked when he realised there was no silverware in sight.
And former Tottenham team-mate Luka Modric looked just as perplexed when cameras from Spanish TV programme ‘El Dia Despues’ caught the pair wondering where the trophy was.
Victory at the Rosaleda secured Real Madrid’s record 33rd title in Spain’s top flight.
But it was their first since 2012 – before either Bale or Modric joined from Spurs.
And neither was aware that custom dictates league silverware is not presented until the start of the following season.
The bemused stars were eventually informed by Madrid’s press officer Juan Camilo Andrade.
Cristiano Ronaldo – who was winning his second title with the club – then confirms the bad news, before adding: “It’s a f***ing joke.”
Last season’s champions Barcelona finally received their trophy in late October, during the official La Liga gala prize-winning ceremony.
Madrid stars later celebrated their win into the early hours with fans at the Cibeles fountain.
