The Chinese Water Melon festival was started in 1988 with the aid of sponsorship from “The Daxing District Government”.
Since its inception over the last two and a half decades, the festival has created new cultural images, gathered people and promoted business opportunities around Daxing city. The slogan of the festival is,
“creating image through cultural events, gather people by love, exhibition to promote the business opportunities.”
The annual watermelon festival has many unique and new activities every year. These special activities, such as cultural and creative activities, west muskmelon contest, literary activities, attracts a lot of Chinese and foreign tourists.
