Nigeria’s foremost manufacturing company, Evans Industries, manufacturers of Meditol antibacterial soap, has reached out to Nigerians during the Covid-19 lockdown to encourage health and safety precautions to slow the spread of the virus.
In a bid to cushion the effects of the lockdown on some vulnerable Lagosians, Medito Nigeria called for individuals to nominate those in need of relief materials. Through these nominations, Meditol was able to distribute items such as Meditol antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizers and food stuff to families in Lagos state.
With the campaign themed ‘Send Love, Send Meditol’, distribution to the recipients was done through nominations by friends and families of the beneficiaries. Meditol called the public to nominate individuals who deserve the special package. This exercise further aided Meditol’s key message of staying safe and maintaining social distancing.
According to the General Manager, Dan Nwaiwu “The Send Love, Send Meditol campaign seeks to encourage Nigerians to stay calm and safe amidst the lockdown. For us, these are the things that we believe in; support to humanity, especially at a time like this. Before now, we have been sensitizing the public on how to stay safe during this trying time, particularly on personal hygiene. We strongly believe that we will overcome this virus in due time and most of the guidelines will form a major part of our lives moving forward.”
Since the confirmation of the first Covid-19 case in Nigeria, Meditol has taken the lead to educate millions of Nigerians on how to stay safe during this period with relevant messages across different media platforms.
One of the recipients was surprised and emotional to have received the Meditol care package “I got a call for a Meditol representative that my younger brother had put my name forward as one of the people deserving of the care package. Since the lockdown, things have been really slow for me and my family. Receiving this care package has put a huge smile on my face.” he said.
