A former Johannesburg Metropolitan Police officer has been reportedly sentenced to 30-years jail by High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The 42-year-old woman was reportedly arrested in 2018 in Greenvillage in Dobsonville, Soweto, after she fed poisoned food to her two children and shot them with a service pistol. The boy who is said to be eight-year-old died while the 14-year-old daughter survived.
Judge Lesiba Mhamgo acknowledged that the officer committed a serious offence, he as well stated that there was fairness in her judgement due to circumstances forwarded by the defence team.
The Ex-police officer was said to have taken drugs before committing the criminal offence.
