Kamala Harris made history as the first black woman elected as vice president of the United States, and she’s being celebrated across the globe for this milestone achieved.
She’s also the first person of South Asian descent elected to the vice presidency, posted video of her celebratory phone call with Biden on Twitter Saturday.
Being a graduate of Howard University, she will be the first vice president to have graduated from a historically Black college and be a member of a Black sorority.
‘We did it, Joe. You’re going to be the next president of the United States,’ Harris tells Joe.
Harris made her mark in politics in California, where she served as San Francisco district attorney before going on to become attorney general of the state the first African-American to serve in that role.
