Kwesta has called out BMW SA for stealing his song after they refused to give credit to him.
According to Kwesta, BMW made use of the sound in one of his hit song, “Spirit” for their advert and could not give him credit.
The rapper called on the company to do the right thing and credit him.
Kwesta took to Twitter to slam the ad which celebrates one of the most popular BMWs in the country, the Gusheshe
He retweeted the advert and posted: “Had to school myself and get expert opinion and backing first. Sit downstairs bafwethu!!! Sivaya ngama ‘grootman’ abhaya.”
Kwesta added: “Do the right thing!!! It took so much effort from so many people to get the rights to sample that song. We did the right thing because we understood the value of the art! This ad cheapens all of those efforts. DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ‘The Grootmans’ @BMW_SA”
This brought mixed reactions from many of his fans as eome of them blamed BMW for not doing the right thing while other felt the sound does not origina;lly belong to Kwesta.
