Three top officials of the Sokoto State Urban and Regional Planning Board have been arrested for having sex with a 12-year-old girl.
The trio were reported to have had sex with the girl at different times after she came begging for financial assistance in their office.
The suspects, who were arrested by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), are Ahmed Yahaya, Ibrahim Isah, the state Internal Auditor and Habibu Abdullahi, Special Assistant to the Director of Finance.
Vincent Adekoye, NAPTIP Press Officer, said the men have been charged to the Federal High Court in the state. He said the crime had been committed in May, 2019.
The spokesman noted that the last person that molested the victim was Abdullahi, who, after knowing that his boss was not around, allegedly lured her inside the office and molested her, giving her N300 thereafter.
