6 essential items to pack for a camping trip

Camping for many adventure enthusiasts is considered one of the best activities, but it could be different to different people.

While some relish the idea of lying under the stars on a hilly terrain, others enjoy roughing it inside deep forests.

But whatever might be the choice, there are certain basic things that people need to pack for the trip.

The basic comforts include a chair, a pillow, tent, sleeping bag, clothes as per the climate and some basic ready-to-eat food.

If you are a newbie in the camping field and preparing for it in the near future, here’s a list of camping lists.

1. Tent/pillows: A must have for any camper! If you are planning a camping trip, it’s advisable to invest in a good all-weather tent. Also, carry a comfy pillow for a goodnight sleep

2. Toiletries and first-aid kit: Never ever forget to carry your toiletries and first-aid kit with basic medicines and band-aids. Be prepared for mosquitoes and bug bites when you go camping.

3. Clothes/shoes: If you are planning a camping trip with your children, do carry extra pairs of clothes and shoes. Warm jackets for nights and shorts for the day, along with a pair of socks and good shoes are a must! It’s also advised to carry waterproof shoes and clothing.

4. Kitchen and cooking: When you are camping, make sure you are carrying enough tinfoil because camping is incomplete without fire-baked potatoes and a warm cup of tea. So carry camp kitchen essentials like stove, matchbox, knife and fuel for cooking. Do not forget to carry recycling bags to clear the mess after. Don’t leave any trash behind.

5. Food/water: In camping, it is always suggested to pack your meals so that you don’t have to waste time on thinking about what to cook! Carry ready-to-cook meals like dried soups, sandwiches, cup noodles, etc. Also check your water requirements. If there’s a river, fine, if not carry your own water.

6. Camping chair: Another important thing to carry along is a camping chair so that you can enjoy an uninterrupted stargazing experience.
